Summer camp USA

Working at Summer Camps in the US is ideal for anyone who wants to get back to basics with kids. Whether its in a tent or cabin, this is truly suited to someone looking for adventure.

Duration	9-11 weeks working plus up to 8 weeks of travel time!
Season	May/June departures
Applicant requirements	Applicants must be 18-30 years (except for teachers), must love kids, new experiences and the outdoors. You need to be ready to be a role model to kids and have one or two skills that you feel comfortable teaching or assisting in teaching to kids. Applicants must be comfortable in a non-smoking/non-drinking environment.
Application process	You will be required to fill out an online application form, provide references and an autobiographical essay as well as complete an in-depth interview.
Number of camps	800
Cost of programme	Application deposit R950. Program Fees R1900 plus insurance for min 3 months (R950).
Expected earnings	From $1640 - $2000+ depending on age, skill and experience.
Cost of living	Accommodation and food costs are covered – you will need your own money for personal items and for days off.
Flight subsidy	From $800.
Friends travelling together	It’s difficult to place friends together at the same camp as camp directors are looking for independent and adaptable individuals. Friends often opt for their own summer camp experience and then travel together following camp.
Travel after camp	Yes - for up to 8 weeks!
Will I be met on arrival?	Yes. Arrangements are made prior to departure from South Africa
Visa	All visa processing is included as well as the cost of the visa sponsorship paperwork and consulate appointment booking. You will however need to pay for the US consulate processing fee $131, Other Costs Flight to the USA (if not taking flight subsidy), police clearance certificate R68, medical check (as per your GP)
