The place is so huge that it basically caters for every type of visitor and traveller. I was a single, first-time, budget-conscious traveller but I really enjoyed myself. The bar next door is vibrant and regularly buzzing of an evening so you can meet new people, whilst the social area, TV rooms and kitchen also offer this option. At times you may feel like you're lost in a maze getting to and from your dorm, and in that respect you can feel my conscious in terms of security. However, accessing the hostel is of no problem, and you can walk in without anyone batting an eyelid - the staff aren't going to recognise and be familiar with every guest. So be smart and wise (I heard of no security issues during my tenure I hasten to add!). The hostel is pretty central in Auckland, making most places easily accessible even by foot. A decent hostel that is for sure, and it should not let you down!

It was my first night on my own since starting my travels and I felt safe and secure. The staff were really helpful and gave me the information I needed to reach my next destination with confidence. It was centrally located and there was the option of having a quiet night in or a fun night at the Globe - something to suit all. I have never been so far away from home yet still felt ike home!

The 24 hour check-in is excellent considering that so many flights arrive into Auckland at late hours. The hostel is well located for all downtown facilities and sights.
