Comfortable base for exploring Bangkok

Breakfasts were excellent - good variety of different cultures. Swimming pools were very good, and location is good for getting around Bangkok, with local shops and cafes providing well for necessities without the glitz and hassle of more central places.

The pool is nice and the rooms are a good size and clean. It is within walking distance of the MBK centre for the shoppers and close to Jim Thompson's house which is worth a visit. The hotel just feels very dated and as though it needs to be refurbished. The entertainment in the lobby area in the evenings is targeted at old people (poor Elvis impersonator and similar acts) and the atmosphere is quite dour compared to the rest of Bangkok. There are plenty of other budget hotels in Bangkok which I am sure would be nicer than this one.

Asia Bangkok offers great value and they have excellent service and friendly staff. The rooms are great and either of the two swimming pools are really nice to chill at for a bit after a hectic day shopping !
