im so glad i picked this hotel, it was in a really picturesque, safe, laidback part of greenwich village and i felt completely comfortable walking around the nearby streets, even after dark. (i was travelling alone and was a little bit wary of the city at first).the rooms are absolutely tiny but that sort of made it all the more charming! i would absolutely choose to stay at the jane when i make a return trip to new york city.

It wasn't right in the heart of NY, where loud noises and bright lights would keep you up, yet it's right nearby where you could get there in no time. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are unique if you're looking for something different! It's definitely a hotel experience to talk about.
Just as I expected, and a bike too!!!

The Place had a quaint charm about it, but as it had been fully renovated it was clean and up to date with moden technology. Yes the rooms are small but that was known by me when I booked. Inside the accomodation all was there one needed TV air-con digital radio with ipod connectivity. the Bar was fabulous, although I think they need an electrician to look at the lights as it was very dark! I think it's called atmosphere. Then there was the bike to ride around Manhattan, on a lovely day I was there it was the best way to get around quickly and environmentaly friendly. I and only one day stop over on my own the bike enabled me to do a lot in six or so hours before I had to head to the plane. I would say though the bike lock key ring should be bigger as in NY there are places to lock your bike attached to subway grills on the sidewalk, and like a fool the key fell out of my hands and dissapeared 10 feet down. Fortunatly I saw them and retrieved them in time to catch my plane, but that as they say is another story.
There is also a very nice eating place in a French cafe style in the Jane, where you can obtaine a meal to start you on your day, and remembering how big meals are in the USA a small option goes a long way.
I have been telling all my friends that if they go to NY for a short trip try the Jane, you won't be dissapointed. Only if you don't like small rooms that is.
