| Day 1: Arrive Cuzco Arrive into colonial Cuzco, a travellers' hub of activity and the contintent's oldest continously inhabited city - steeped in history, tradition and legend. Shuffle over the cobblestones lapping up the atmosphere and altitude. |
| Day 2: Sacred Valley / Ollantaytambo Head out and along the Sacred Valley, exploring Inca ruins on the way and taking in the stunning scenery. Meet a llama or two, then check out the markets in Pisac before arriving into pretty Ollantaytambo ahead of tomorrows adventure. Very exciting! |
| Days 3-6: Inca Trail to Machu Picchu At Km 82 you'll begin your epic once-in-a-lifetime journey. Through ups and downs of all sorts (4000m at the highest) you'll witness great flora and fauna, chortle with your comrades and exhaust all your best jokes. Tape your gob-smacked mouth shut (unless you like to munch on flies) as you marvel at the views and look sexy and sweaty in your good looking walking shoes. Optional singing of a Maria style 'the hills are alive' is welcomed but you'll be stunned into silence on your last day as you catch sunrise creeping over the Machu Picchu site. Words are simply not enough... Forget the camera, just stand and absorb. (3B, 3L, 3D) |
