Beach and Bush

DAY 1: SYDNEY TO BYRON BAY
We leave Sydney and commence our journey up to Byron Bay; we stop on route to look at the biggest banana in the world at Coff’s Harbour. We end the day with new friends watching a glorious sun set.

DAY 2: BYRON BAY
Surf, sea kayak, or take a stroll to Cape Byron to spot dolphins and whales – or just work on topping up the tan! (B)

DAY 3: BYRON BAY TO GOLD COAST
We cross into the 'Sunshine State' of Queensland, and visit the tumbling waterfall of the 'natural arch.' This evening, the cafes and clubs of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast call! (B, D)

DAY 4: GOLD COAST
Today you could go to Movie World or Sea World or Dream World or Australia Zoo. Plus there are endless beaches close to the hotel! (B)

DAY 5: GOLD COAST TO FRASER ISLAND
Starting with a shop, coffee or stroll in Brisbane, this afternoon we sail from Hervey Bay to our lodge amongst the towering Eucalyptus trees of Fraser Island. (B, D)

DAY 6: FRASER ISLAND AND GREAT SANDY NATIONAL PARK
Today we’ll experience ancient rainforest and 240m high sand dunes! There’s the option of a 4 – wheel drive adventure to the islands amazing fresh water lakes! (B)

DAY 7: FRASER ISLAND TO ROCKHAMPTON
Wave farewell to Fraser Island and off we go to Australia’s beef capital, Rockhampton. Why not head out to the rodeo tonight and meet a real life cowboy?! (B, D)

DAY 8: ROCKHAMPTON TO THE WHITSUNDAYS
We arrive this evening in Airlie Beach, and gaze at the stars from out boat/ home for the next two night. (B, D) N.B. For those without ‘sealegs’ a land option is available.

DAY 9: THE WHITSUNDAY ISLANDS
Snorkel through coral reefs, sail, and star gaze. Your friends at home will be so jealous! (B, L, D)

DAY 10: THE WHITSUNDAYS TO AIRLIE BEACH
This morning we set sail again for another idyllic location before returning to the mainland and the busy resort town of Airlie Beach. Tonight we’ll get to experience a night out in “Airlie” with plenty of bars and clubs so you can dance the night away. (B)

DAY 11: AIRLIE BEACH TO CAIRNS
We stop at ‘The Strand’ in Townsville – 2.5km of beaches, parks and cafes. Then onwards to Cairns in tropical North Queensland. (B)

DAY 12: CAIRNS
White water rafting, tandem skydiving, quad biking, bungee jumping, hot air ballooning and more – all possible in the reefs and rainforests of Cairns. (B)

DAY 13: CAIRNS WITH OPTIONAL GREAT BARRIER REEF
Today you have the option of anchoring at the egde of the Great Barrier Reef and slipping into this underwater paradise. Tonight we meet the local Tjapukai people at a spectacular evening of fire, dancing and music, finishing off with a buffet dinner. (B,D)
 

DAY 14: CAIRNS
We glide just metres above the tropical rainforest on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, and explore the arts and crafts of a local village. (B)

DAY 15: CAIRNS TO ALICE SPRINGS
Flying into Alice Springs we are in the Red Centre. This evening we can watch the local wallabies playing as the sun goes down. (B) *Note: internal domestic flight not included in tour price. We recommend you book Qantas flight QF1949 departing 11.25am.

DAY 16: ALICE SPRINGS TO AYERS ROCK CAMPGROUND
Today we get truly into the Wild Outback! We stop at a camel farm and explore ancient caves and aboriginal paintings on the mystic Uluru (Ayres Rock) before watching it change colour at sunset. (B, L, D)

DAY 17: ULURU KATA TJUTA NATIONAL PARK TO KINGS CANYON
Today’s an early start to catch the unmissable sunrise over Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). This afternoon we visit Kings Creek Station. (B, L, D)

DAY 18: KINGS CANYON TO ALICE SPRINGS
Walking shoes ready? We’re climbing over the massive sandstone cliffs of King's Canyon with amazing views though sand dune country. Then we’ll make our way back to Alice Springs. (B, L)

DAY 19: ALICE SPRINGS
Watch the fiery Aussie sun rise with an optional hot air balloon ride. We’ll then head to see the Western MacDonnell ranges, including Simpson’s Gap and Standley Chasm. Then back to Alice Springs to reflect on our Aussie Adventure and say farewell to new friends. (B)
